Security Tightened Along Indo-Nepal Border; Police and SSB Conduct Joint Flag March in Sonauli

Sonauli/Maharajganj:
Security arrangements along the Indo-Nepal border have been intensified ahead of the upcoming festivals to ensure peace and maintain law and order. As part of the enhanced security measures, personnel of the Uttar Pradesh Police and the 22nd Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) carried out a joint flag march in the border town of Sonauli on Saturday evening.

The march was led by Circle Officer (Nautanwa) Basant Kumar Singh, who, along with police and SSB personnel, patrolled the Indo-Nepal border, the main market, and other sensitive locations. During the operation, security teams conducted thorough checks of passengers crossing the border and kept a close watch on suspicious activities.

Officials said that surveillance in the border region has been significantly strengthened to prevent any untoward incidents during the festive season. Every individual entering or leaving through the border is being subjected to strict security screening, while security personnel remain on high alert at vulnerable points.

During the joint patrol, officers also appealed to residents and traders to maintain communal harmony and immediately report any suspicious activity to the authorities. They assured the public that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure a safe and peaceful festive season.

The operation was attended by SSB Inspector Vishal Kumar, Sub-Inspector Ramchandra Rai, Sonauli Outpost In-charge Umakant Saroj, Assistant Sub-Inspector Shiv Pratap Yadav, Head Constable Mithilesh Kumar Singh, Constable Vikas Kumar, Constable Kesh Ram Meena, along with other police and SSB personnel.
