Bhairahawa, Nepal — Serious concerns have emerged over the quality of petrol being sold at a fuel station in Bhairahawa, Nepal, after several consumers alleged that they were supplied with adulterated or substandard fuel.
Customers claimed that the fuel station, which has long enjoyed the trust of motorists, is now allegedly distributing poor-quality petrol. According to vehicle owners, their motorcycles and scooters began experiencing mechanical issues shortly after refueling.
Consumers pointed out that modern Fuel Injection (FI) motorcycles and scooters are highly sensitive to fuel quality. They warned that contaminated or adulterated petrol can clog the fuel pump, block fuel injectors, reduce engine performance, and in severe cases, lead to major engine damage, resulting in costly repairs.
Local motorists have urged the concerned authorities to immediately investigate the allegations and conduct quality testing of the fuel being sold. They said prompt action is essential to protect consumers from financial losses and ensure public confidence in fuel quality.
The incident has sparked widespread concern among residents, with many calling on Nepal’s petroleum quality control authorities to inspect the fuel station and take appropriate action if any violations are found.
