Traders’ Association Submits Six-Point Charter of Demands to Chief Minister Through SDM

Nautanwa, Maharajganj: The Industry and Trade Representatives Association, under the leadership of its town president Santosh Agrahari, submitted a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister through Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Naveen Prasad on Friday, highlighting six key demands concerning the welfare and interests of traders across the state.

In the memorandum, the association urged the government to introduce a health insurance scheme for GST-registered traders and provide insurance coverage of up to ₹1 crore against losses caused by fire incidents in commercial establishments.

The traders also demanded that the interest rate levied on delayed payment of dues and late filing of returns by various departments be reduced from 18 percent to 9 percent. They further sought lifetime validity for licenses issued by different government departments.

Another major demand included the abolition of survey and raid-related provisions conducted by various departments, which traders claim often create unnecessary difficulties for businesses.

The memorandum also called for the removal of fixed charges and minimum charges from electricity bills, arguing that consumers are already billed based on actual meter readings.

Additionally, the association requested that arms licenses be granted to traders on a priority basis to ensure their safety and security.

The traders expressed hope that the state government would take prompt action to address their concerns and implement the proposed measures.

Among those present during the submission of the memorandum were Kishore Maddheshiya, Anil Srivastava, Virendra Jaiswal, Dinesh Verma, Ramesh Jaiswal, Vindhyachal Maddheshiya, Sachin Srivastava, Santosh Sahara, Sanjay, and several other members of the trading community.
