Sonouli/Maharajganj: A tragic incident cast a shadow of grief over Hanumangarhiya Tola Sohni village under Sonouli police station limits on Monday morning, when a 9-year-old boy, Ayush Chaurasia, lost his life after being struck by lightning.According to reports, Ayush had accompanied his parents to their farmland to cut paddy seedlings for transplantation. At around 7:30 a.m., the weather suddenly turned stormy, and a lightning strike hit the field. The child was caught in the strike and died on the spot before his family could react.The heartbreaking incident has left the family devastated and the entire village in mourning. Police reached the spot after receiving information and initiated the necessary legal formalities.Villagers have urged the administration to provide immediate financial assistance to the bereaved family. The tragedy also serves as a reminder for people to remain extremely cautious while working in open fields during the monsoon season, as lightning strikes can occur without warning.
