Lured on the Pretext of Repaying ₹67,000, Youth Alleges Attempt to Run Him Over with Car; Three Booked

Sonauli (Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh): A dispute over an alleged unpaid amount of ₹67,000 took a serious turn in Sonauli after a local resident accused three people of luring him to different locations on the pretext of repaying the money and then attempting to kill him by ramming his motorcycle with a car. Police have registered a case against the accused and launched an investigation.

According to the complaint filed with Sonauli Police, Kamlesh Giri, a resident of Ward No. 14, Lohiya Nagar, alleged that Azmat Ali, Budhe, and Momina Khatoon called him to Piprahiya Chowk near the Shyamkat Bridge on Jaswal Road and later to Bhagwanpur, assuring him that his outstanding ₹67,000 would be repaid.

Kamlesh stated that when he reached the locations, no one was present. He then contacted Momina Khatoon by phone regarding the pending payment, during which he allegedly received death threats.

The complainant further alleged that shortly afterward, the accused, who were allegedly lying in wait, deliberately rammed his motorcycle from behind with a car in an attempt to kill him. The collision left him with injuries to his leg and other parts of his body, while his motorcycle was severely damaged.

Kamlesh also claimed that after the incident, the accused abused him, threatened to kill him, and fled the scene in their car. He subsequently approached the police seeking legal action.

Sonauli Station House Officer Mahendra Kumar Mishra confirmed that an FIR has been registered against the three accused. Police have initiated an investigation, and further legal action will be taken based on the evidence collected.
